Conducting a test play was critical for shaping the final output. I presented early versions of the intro to classmates to see how the visuals, pacing and atmosphere translated to other viewers. They immediately noted that the intro was too dark. Although the darkness was intentional, it risked obscuring important visual details especially in a dome setting where peripheral visibility matters more. I gradually increased brightness and added subtle reflections and ambient lighting to make the space more readable without losing the void-like quality.

Another crucial piece of feedback: the vlog segment looked distorted in the dome. This was a technical issue related to fisheye conversion. The first few attempts resulted in stretched faces, warped landscapes, and uneven curvatures. These distortions were distracting and pulled viewers out of the experience. Playtesting revealed the need for a more accurate conversion workflow.

There were also comments about pacing. Dome screens amplify motion, so scenes that feel normal on a laptop can feel too fast or overwhelming when projected at large scale. I slowed down certain segments, especially the more dynamic shots to create a calmer and more immersive flow.

Through playtesting, I learned how different the dome medium is from traditional screens. Viewer perception changed everything. The dome demanded slower camera motion, clearer lighting and more intentional pacing. These adjustments made the final experience smoother, clearer and more emotionally engaging.
